With the resurrection of Australian drifting, Drift Battle has put together a compilation of some of Australia’s and the world’s best drift cars.
While it may only be a one-off print for the moment, if enough people buy this special edition, we might be able to convince the publishers to make it a regular production once again.
So go on buy the bloody magazine, support Australian drift and lets get this motorsport back into the mainstream limelight.

Pembrey’s brake upgrade for the Hard parker

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with Stephen Pembrey who traveled down from Sydney to work on his Toyota Sprinter, being stored in Canberra. It is about a 300 kilometer journey seeing boring bush land. Steve plans to have his car running and competition ready by September, to compete in the very first round of Australian Drift GP. The Sprinter is currently undergoing a Aurion V6 conversion and is expected to make more power than his turbo setup. New Wilwood brakes were ordered and “almost” installed in anticipation of the extra horse power and torque.

Steve who is easily distracted saw something interesting on the ground, just off shot of the camera.

Off come the wheels and what appear to be brand new tyres from 2009.

Steve’s 98% completed installation of the roll cage. I guess the percentage of complete depends on how many steps were planned for the installation.

Uprated factory Sprinter brakes look very small.

As part of the brake upgrade, a Nissan Master cylinder was fitted. At least one good part needs to be installed on the Toyota .

On the phone to Repco to source some new wheel bearings to replace the worn out set.

Roll center adjusters at the bottom the strut to improve steering.

Old discs off! Discs are bolted directly onto the wheel hubs.

Steve tries to line up the bolt holes on the discs, unfortunately they don’t seem to line up. After looking for differences, Steve notices that the hole sizes are different.

The hole is enlarged with great precision.

4 pot Wilwood caliper kit was used for this upgrade. It will be a massive improvement over the factory single pot calipers.

The comes with adapter brackets for the larger discs and calipers.

All though the adapter bolted on without issues, the dust cover required some trimming to allow the caliper to be fitted.

Great Success, the caliper fitted without pads, or lines fits very well. Stay tuned for more updates…. maybe…

Hello again,

Last year I had a short interview with Stephen Pembery after the MG Motorkhana. It has taken some time however the video is online… for now. Please check it out and provide feedback for both the interviewer and interviewee. This was the first time I had filmed a interview, so advice and critism will be considered.

That’s right guys, I’ve moved to the big smoke and done something meaningful with myself.

I am finding out that writers don’t get paid too much, so work on the Sprinter is slowing down a bit however the XR will be still smashing khanas. Another upside is I will be little bit more in the loop when it comes to cool car stuff, so hopefully I’ll be able to post more cool shit on here.
